Happy Weekend Sweet Soul! My article today is about the steadfast love, that we know does not cease to ever end! Intentionally relating it to Father’s Day.
How is everyone? Today is the week commencing father’s Day. I am so excited, knowing I have an opportunity to celebrate FATHERS! 21 June 2020, this coming weekend (Sunday) to be precise. I cannot wait to see the different ways and style, in which people will choose to celebrate any father figure in our life.
I have decided that I want to use the scripture above (lamentations 3:22-23) to express or explain how and why I believe, making time to celebrate our fathers, are essential and very much relevant. The scripture says, the Lord never cease to end his love for us, I do not believe we can hate or dislike our fathers, due to a certain sequence of events.
Personally, I believe, society has portrayed Father’s Day as not important. Unfortunately, I was part of that. I am happy and grateful that I have a better understanding now. God always loves us; despite the multiple sins we make.
This year, I want to go all out. I will also urge you to do the same, it is never too late to start. Read below some of the scriptures the bible refers and reminds us of our duties towards our fathers.
Exodus 20:12 ESV
“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
Ephesians 6:1-3 ESV
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.”
Ephesians 6:1 ESV
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
One thing I want to express is that fact that many or all of us make the mistake of listening to advice or story about a parent. These stories are mostly about our fathers, which in return gives us a negative feeling towards them.
I am a living witness to that. I listen and honestly never gave my father 100% of me. God being so good, he gave me spiritual fathers, that thought me the importance of loving my father and as a response, how to love without receiving, learnt how to be patient. Most which I will never forget because I learnt the right way.
As children of God. We must practice forgiveness always. It is a principal part of our walk with God. Look at the many times, we sin against God, the many times he forgives us. Honestly, we have no RIGHT to keep unforgiveness in our hearts towards anyone.
Read the below verse, steadfast love never ceases, to come to an end! That is the kind of Love God has for us his children no matter what we do in his eyes. A can hold on to your sins, but God forgives always.
To the fathers, Husband, Brothers, Sons, Grandfather, and potential fathers, We Love you all. You are all blessed, forgive us for not showing the love we have for you, forgive us for not taking care of you, the same we should have, forgive for we knew not what we were doing. We love you All!
Lamentations 3:22-23 (ESV)
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
Happy Father’s Day In Advance!
